Calculate the pH of a mixture of 2 g chlorous acid and 3 g sodium chlorite solution? Given pka of chlorous acid=1.94
Q.Calculate the pH of a mixture of 2 g chlorous acid and 3 g sodium chlorite solution? Given pka of chlorous acid=1.94
chlorous acid(Hclo2) and sodium enlorite (Naclo2) mixture is a butter Solution
PH of Such Solution-
PH = PKa+log (Naclo2)÷(Hclo2)
Given, Pka =1.94.
Now, 2 g Hclo2=0.029 mole
and 3 g Naclo2=0.033 mole
using handerson equation we get pH
pH=1.99
